JOB SUMMARY:  

Receives (by telephone, fax or email) requests for quotations, orders, and lead times from customers. Assist customers, write orders, and relay pertinent order information to customers. Coordinate with other departments in handling purchase orders and providing service to customers. Performs duties with marketing department where customer contact is a prime responsibility.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

As a Customer Service Representative

· Receives telephone requests for price quotations, purchase orders, order changes, adjustments, and cancellations directly from customers.

·  Achieves and maintains rapport with customers and works to give them the best possible service.

· Retrieve customer information, stock status information, the status of purchase orders, and to make changes on customer purchase orders. Ensures that correct codes are used for retrieving and inputting information.

· Follows up on inquiries by checking computer for delivery information.

· Handles the needs of sales representatives and customers.

· Maintains files of active orders and posts activity such as change notices, scheduling changes, partial shipments, and credit changes.

· Prepares paperwork (original purchase order, copies of invoice, and return goods memo) to be given to accounting department for credit or debit to be issued.

· Develop and maintain team-orientation with other members of sales staff and with co-workers.

 

The career track is to move from Customer Service to our Inside Sales Department.

 

· Sell Progressive Gourmet, Inc. products and services over the phone and internet developing new business opportunities for new and existing accounts.

· Contact assigned customers to build stronger relationships (100+ calls per week).

· Qualify potential new accounts with target of prospective purchases being at least $1250 per average month. 

· Communication with senior sales reps and associate sales reps
 Learn PG selling system and utilize to accomplish company goals of relationship building and maximizing sales.

· Maintain the efficiency and effectiveness of the sales team by working closely with outside sales staff, senior sales reps and customer service departments.

· Represent the company as a professional salesperson to all assigned accounts and prospective customers.

· Develop excellent prioritizing & decision-making skills and display strong organizational and planning skills.  

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

· Ability to handle challenging, fast-paced and complex sales situations in a calm and effective manner.

· Desire to be challenged, stimulated, and evolve with this sales opportunity to further career growth at PG.

· Must display a great deal of enthusiasm, have a drive to succeed, and be very self-motivated.

· Candidate should have good computer and communication skills.
