DIRECTOR OF PURCHASING

Cordúa Restaurants is a growing leader in fine dining restaurant that owns and operates 7 acclaimed restaurants in the Houston area including Americas, Churrascos, Artista and Amazon Grill. Our corporate Office is now seeking enthusiastic qualified individuals with excellent interpersonal relations skills, commitment, and at least 5 to 7 years of experience in the procurement of goods and services in the food industry to lead our Purchasing Department.

 

The Purchasing Director reports to: Operations.

 

Description:

In accordance with company procedures and policies, the Director of Purchasing plans, coordinates, reviews, directs and participates in the centralized purchasing of all goods and services, and is responsible for controlling costs while maintaining quality.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 Negotiates contract provisions in accordance with company specificationsInterviews vendors to evaluate alternative products and servicesOversees purchasing processes and monitor compliance for all units on an ongoing basis Resolves service or quality issues for Operations that relate to goods and servicesAnalyzes, develops and monitors supplier performance KPI programCollaborates with Executive Chef, operations’ teams and executives in the selection of food products and menu development.Collaborates with beverage consultant, operations’ teams and executives in the selection of beverage products and menu development. Beverage Committee leaderAnalyze and project volume and usage trends as they relate to commodities and programsCommunicate effectively to all general managers and other related individualsWork with Chefs and General Managers to reduce process time in unit purchasing and receiving related processesParticipate in plant/QA tours and follow up with specific feedbackMaintain purchasing and Inventory database product including Accounting System recipe index.Prepares and implements all new unit opening FF&E packages.
