Director - Applications Systems Analysis and Programming

Summary: The Technical Director will have the overall technical direction responsibility for the following core internal global software applications: Facilities Management, Food Management and Supply Chain Management. Duties/Responsibilities: Participates, directs and drives strategic long-term software goals, policies and procedures for software initiatives. Participates, directs and drives the organization's long-term systems needs to accomplish defined business objectives. Meets regularly with project managers and other management to ensure that objectives are being met and that standards are being followed. Manage technical staff to ensure that project deliverables are being met on time and on budget. Meets with data processing managers to determine impact of proposed changes in hardware or software on computer operations and service to users. Evaluates new software and hardware to determine usefulness and compatibility. Makes recommendations for technology purchases. Acts as a liaison with hardware and software vendors for system design, installation and maintenance. Responds to the needs and questions of users concerning their access to resources on the network and the operation of various software programs. Remains abreast of changes in user and system software and hardware requirements. Responsible for following and developing departmental work procedures and processes. Identify and report escalated issues and initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformity relating to product or process. Manages resource levels to demands of projects and initiatives. Participates in budget process. Create and/or assist in defining budgets. Manage to budget plans. Directs and supervises applicable technical resources. Other duties as assigned in support of IS&T objectives and initiatives. Minimum Education/Experience Required: A bachelors degree in Computer Science or Information Technology is required. Masters degree in a related area (Computer Science or Information Technology) or equivalent experience is a plus. 10 years of experience in the information technology field. 5 years of applications development staff management experience. Proven experience with software - UNIX/Windows, hardware, networking, databases, data warehouse and systems integration are required. Must have the ability to work with many software and technological disciplines. Significant applications development project management experience. Position Summary:Responsible for applications systems analysis and programming activities. Reviews systems development project requests and coordinates schedules and related departmental activities. Provided overall direction and guidance to assigned project managers. Reviews and evaluates work of subordinate staff and prepares performance reports. Prepares activity and progress reports regarding applications systems analysis and programming sections.
