Director - Business Development

The focus of this Dir, Business Development position is to pursue service contracts from the Division's existing portfolios to penetrate government/military service segments, focusing on the right client / right terms Statements of Work, arrangements for the Division. Requires evaluating, qualifying and bidding new business opportunities, working with small business partners, and Community Rehabilitation Programs to pursue new contract sales. Most opportunities will require developing and negotiating strategic partnerships with minority and disadvantaged business partners. PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: BS in business or related field plus 8 to 10 years of progressively more responsible Sales experience in the Government marketplace. Proven success (quantified by contract wins) as a BD Manager and at least 2 years as a Director. (Pertinent work that demonstrates capability for clear written and oral communication integrated with aptitude for understanding and solving complex problems). Operate within a Government/Military contract environment in appropriated funds for 6 or more years. Past experience participating in the Government Proposal process. Experience operating and or negotiating subcontracting agreements and teaming relationships. Familiar with Federal Acquisition Regulations, Government Contracting, Remote Site Operations, Overview of Food and Facilities competencies and resources is helpful, Subcontracting Relationships and Teaming Agreements, Contracting Negotiations, and Government Security Restrictions. Must be familiar with Appropriated and Non-Appropriated cost accounting regulations governing the expense and collection of government funds. Candidate must include a verifiable list of all contract awards he/she has won. Must list name of contract, awarding agency, total contract value and contract length. Additionally, candidates are instructed to only list those awards where he/she was the Capture Leader, not merely a proposal role player. This responsible position will be assigned very large and complex Capture duties, including re-bid efforts. Critical success factor is win rate. Must have a demonstrated past of working in a leadership role with minimum supervision. Candidate must be a self-starter. Ability to travel up to 50% (U.S. and international) Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment for extended periods. Outstanding interpersonal skills and cooperation are essential. Position could work in variety of locations. West Coast - San Diego, San Francisco, or San Antonio preferred. Position Summary: Develops and executes a strategic business development plan, public relations plan and strategic advertising campaigns. Creates and implements effective internal communication tools. Develops a plan to enhance communication to existing clients. Manages media relations for the area. Actively participates in sales proposal development and presentations. Basic Education Requirement: Bachelor's Degree Basic Management/Supervisory Experience Required: None Basic Functional Experience Required: At least 2 years sales or industry-related work experience You may substitute 1 additional year of experience for each year of education below the basic requirement above as long as you possess a high-school diploma or GED.
