Director of Purchasing

Don Pablo's is seeking an exceptional, motivated leader for our Director of Purchasing position.

The qualified candidate will be responsible for food and nonfood items being delivered to the units in a timely and cost effective manner, sourcing of new products for R&D as well as providing alternate vendors to manufacture productions to facilitate the company's growth, discovers new venues in procuring products to stabilize costs and make it easier for the units to operate by performing the following duties.
 
Essential Duties:Oversee, coordinate and analyze all program related aspects of food & supply distribution.Lead assigned purchasing activities related to new product introduction, and LTO's, working closely with R & D, Operations and Supplier base.Negotiate and write effective contracts with suppliers consistent with Company objective of minimizing life cycle costs, quality assurance, and minimizing commercial risk. Analyze/review final product delivered cost and contract compliance, taking appropriate action where necessary. Oversee and manage day-to-day interface with supplier reps and distributor buyers.Coordinate routine and non-routine communication with restaurant management. Regularly interface with R&D and Marketing, including but not limited to; sourcing new products, setup into distribution, shipping test products, timing of roll-outs, sample requests, etc.Manages system for tracking all manufacturer and distributor rebate and accrual accounts as required  (quarterly, monthly, annually), while following established procedures and systems.
 
Additional responsibilities: Directly supervises multiple employees in the Purchasing department. Executes supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities
include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelors degree in business or related field required, Master's degree preferred; or four to ten years related experience, and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
