Distribution Team Member

The Distribution Team Member will load & unload items, stage product, receive various items in the warehouse and perform appropriate record keeping functions with and without the use of mechanical aid.  Essential functions are performed in a warehouse environment and in accordance with P. J. Food Service safety policies/guidelines.  The Distribution Team Member will function as part of a team in a positive environment.  The Distribution Team Member will undergo safety training and be instructed to work safely in all aspects of his daily duties.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1.  Collect and assemble products according to a staging list and in a timely manner

2.  Drive and operate company vehicles and equipment (forklift, yard truck and trailers)

3.  Perform the proper sanitation procedures during and at the end of each shift.  Maintain the warehouse and exterior area in a clean and orderly manner

4.  Interact in a positive and constructive manner with all customers (internal and external)

5.  Receive in and unload inbound freight.  Properly date all food/perishable items, insuring that all food products are kept free from possible sources of contamination and foreign material

6.  Rotate inventory items (first in - first out) to prevent spoilage

7.  Perform proper preventative and (minor) repair maintenance on company equipment.  Annotate maintenance and battery logs documenting maintenance performed

8.  Check loaded trailers for correctness by performing an inventory (counting items) of items on the loaded trailers

9.  Complete any required paperwork (time card, log books, receivers, bills of lading, daily forklift inspection reports, etc.) in a timely and accurate manner

10.  Perform other related duties, as assigned


EDUCATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS

1.  Ability to read, write and use mathematical skills effectively, including the ability to interpret and utilize staging lists, dough maps, picking slips, invoices, and other paperwork

2.  Warehouse distribution, forklift operation and truck loading/unloading experience is preferred

3.  Valid drivers license with a good Motor Vehicle Record

4.  Forklift Certification (Distribution Team Members are taught and certified during the initial orientation period of employment)
