Engineering Manager of Capital Projects

If you have extensive experience in Capital Projects and Process Manufacturing, possess an Engineering degree, and you'd like to work for a stable, growing $4B Ingredient Company that has $80M worth of Capital Projects currently underway, then we'd like to talk with you about the "Engineering Program Coordinator" position, supervising the Project Coordinators. In this position, you’d be reporting directly to the Engineering Senior Group Manager, and will be responsible for assuring Technically Sound System Designs, and the timely / cost effective implementation of Major Capital Projects for the company’s Keokuk, Iowa facility, located in a nice rural community only 30 minutes from a Midwest City.  Primary duties and responsibilities of this position will include managing multi-million dollar capital projects; therefore, strong project management and technical skills are required.  You will be responsible for: capital project design ● cost estimates ● cost controls ● planning & scheduling ● construction ● start-ups ● construction safety programs ● Operations troubleshooting assistance. In addition, you will have the opportunity to participate in Operation driven projects and assist areas of the plant with technical issues Experience in a process related industry (corn wet milling, chemical, pulp & paper, food, pharmaceutical) is preferred, and should be familiar with: centrifuges ● ion exchange systems ● crystallization systems ● chromatographic separation ● powder handling systems ● batch reactors ● drying equipment ● tanks ● process piping ● packaging equipment ● vessels ● heat exchangers ● boiler utility systems (steam, compressed air, etc.) ● mechanical systems including pumps ● piping ● valves ● heat exchangers.   You will also participate on and/or lead cross-functional teams involving representatives from Operations, Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain and Sales, working closely with both the U.S. Operations, Engineering, Production Planning and Finance departments, as well as the European Engineering group, external Engineering resources, equipment suppliers, and construction firms. It’s very important that you working knowledge of State and Federal Building and Safety Codes, plus understand Environmental Agency Requirements for this or similar industries. Approximately 10% travel is required primarily in North America and Europe.  The following requirements and qualifications have been established for this position: BA/BS degree in Mechanical, Civil or Chemical Engineering Minimum >5 years experience in Project Management within a process oriented industry Experience in managing capital projects > $10 MM desired Experience in project scoping and estimating methods Experience in SAP Project Systems module preferred Demonstrates cross-functional leadership skills Demonstrates ability to manage and/or develop corporate programs effectively Demonstrates working knowledge of State and Federal building & safety codes Demonstrates an understanding of environmental agency requirements Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills Demonstrates strong computer skills utilizing MS Office products An outline of the requirements and qualifications for these positions are as follows: BA/BS in major Engineering discipline; Preferred: MS in Engineering plus MBA Largest project managed > $ 3 MM; Preferred: Largest project managed > $30 MM >5 years Project Mgt.
