Purpose:'To provide analysis of past and current Trade Spending to Field Sales, Distributor Sales, Category Development, and Marketing to enable the most efficient use and allocation of the division's trade spending.'To offer factual information and analysis to further improve the account planning process and supports the Field Sales organization.'To act as the key conduit between Field Sales, Distributor Sales, and the Headquarters team for all promotional initiatives to quantify profitability and funding needs.Principal Accountabilities:BUSINESS PLANNING SUPPORT:'Assist Field Sales and Category Development in the account planning process by providing insight into past successes and failures. 'Provide Field Sales with the necessary data and analysis to effectively allocate and plan local marketing funds.'Work with the Field Sales to increase the accuracy of input into the TRADEwinds system.'Assist in the integration of existing subsidiaries or new acquisitions into the existing trade spending processes and systems.'Insure accurate and timely forecasting of trade spending.'Utilize existing data sources to identify and target cross sell opportunism.TRADE SPENDING: 'Review and approve operator programs in the TRADEwinds system in accordance with product profitability targets developed in conjunction with Marketing. Insure compliance of incoming programs with internal volume and pricing policies. 'Make recommendation for improving mix, profitability, and new product placement.'Identify and communicate to Sales Management, Category Development, Marketing, and Finance all spending problems/opportunities on both a micro and macro basis.'Assist Marketing and Category Development in developing trade promotion strategies based upon market and post promotion analyses.POST PROMOTION ANALYSIS:'Increase the returns on trade spending and ultimately improve incremental volume and profits by providing post performance analyses to assist in the development of more effective trade promotions.'Utilize operator rebates and distributor shipment activity to assess the success/failure of trade promotions. Suggest reallocating resources to more profitable vehicles accounts and/or markets.'Communicate event post performance results to the Business Development Manager.TRAINING:'Provide support to Field Sales for the TRADEwinds system. REQUIRED:'Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Marketing.'Superior spreadsheet, database, and analytical skills.'Solid written and verbal communication skills.'Self-starter with the ability to handle multiple projects at one time.PREFERRED:'MBA.'Understanding of Trade promotion strategies and tactics.'Experience with Cognos, Blacksmith, and/or Business Objects.'Experience within the Foodservice industry.
