Food Scientist / Technician

FOOD SCIENTIST - A specialty beverage manufacturer has an opening for a qualified food scientist.  The primary base of products we manufacture are liquid beverage concentrates and powder based products for use in the food service industry.

Our current position opening is for an R&D/Food Scientist with the following qualifications:

1.  R&D - refine and create new products based on customer demand, flavor profiles and market/industry trends.  

2.  Quality Assurance/Control - oversee HACCP, Food Safety procedures, all regulatory auditing and procedural paperwork and training of production staff on GMPs, MCS, and other processes.  Responsible for all third party audits and federal audits.  Test all batches of product before bottling.  Primary tests include: Brix, sensory, color analysis and Ph.  Oversee cleaning of production lines and send out finished products to outside lab for micro analysis, if not able to do in-house.

3.  Receiving/Production Scheduling - Receive all raw materials/document quality standards and oversee recall procedure as necessary. Additionally, create bill of materials, receive finished products and work with production supervisor to plan weekly production schedule.

Experience Level 
We are looking for someone with experience in the food and beverage industry, or in the food manufacturing industry.  Preferably 5-10+ years work experience.  Nutritional background a real plus.  Must have a passion for creating unique products and have a strong attention to detail.  Must be able to supervise production staff and implement the highest quality standards possible.
