This position is responsible for assuring the Vineland plant maintains compliance with NJ and Federal Air, Water, Waste, and Chemical Reporting regulations. The position also leads sustainability efforts in water, waste and energy reductions, coordinates boiler room and WWT activities, and manages capital for the work area. A strong candidate for this position will use the environmental manager position to provide leadership to the plant through vision and strategy and will drive innovation and growth. As a manager, the candidate will be able to energize and develop self and others and deliver outstanding results. As a part of the Company of Champions, the successful candidate will demonstrate integrity, work collaboratively, and demonstrate sound judgment and problem solving skills as well as the ability to adapt to changing demands.Key Responsibilities: Identify/evaluate environmental risk arising from new manufacturing practices Ensure ongoing compliance with all environmental regulations & permits: Title V Air Permit; NJPDES Waste Water, Surface Water, and Storm Water Permits; SPCC Management; SWPPP Management; Slug Control Plan; NRC Reporting; Hazardous Waste Management; Chemical Management/Reporting; HCFC Management Establish and maintain a comprehensive Environmental Management System Assure Corporate Environmental Goals are met in the following Areas: Permit Compliance; Environmental Task Tracking; Sustainability Initiative (waste reduction, water conservation, and recycling); Audit Issues Tracking Manage the environmental spending budgets Contact for: FM Global, Fire Marshall, NJ Enforcement Agencies, and Fire Department Direct the Waste Water Pre-Treatment facilities Drive Cost and Reliability improvements in the Environmental Compliance Programs Lead Energy Awareness and Utilities Cost Improvement programs Act as main liaison with Corporate HSE Department Manage Plant security service Manage facility mechanics: HVAC; WWT/General Mechanic; Boiler engineers (5 direct reports) Qualifications: BS in Engineering; preference for Environmental Sciences PE, CHMM, QEP certifications preferred 2-5 years prior experience Demonstrated technical knowledge in environmental compliance and manufacturing plant operations Track record of strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills The ability to persuade and drive change Demonstrated ability to manage environmental issues. Understanding of tools used to manage these issues and of local, state, and Federal regulations that impact these areas. Demonstrated broad knowledge with respect to Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Architectural engineering skills.
