Hygiene Controller needed
DO & CO Catering New York, Inc. is an international Airline Caterer, with our Corporate Headquarters located in Vienna, Austria. We have facilities located in New York, London, Milan, Istanbul, Berlin, Frankfurt, Munich, and Salzburg. We are looking for a Hygiene Controller for our JFK location in New York at JFK International Airport. We are looking for a forward-thinking individual who has a strong ability to look at the big picture and a proven ability to implement new systems & procedures and lead and motivate a team.
Our Hygiene Controller is a shop floor working member of management; and ideally possesses 3+ years’ hands on experience. The Hygiene Controller has the ability to implement and maintain company policies adhering to local, state, federal, international environmental, health and food safety regulations. The Hygiene Controller has full knowledge of the HACCP control system, and holds a NYC Food Protection Certificate. Ideal candidate is self driven, and result orientated and has self-assertion to implement and safe guard achieved goals. Ideal candidate is detailed and quality orientated and has proven training skills in order to maintain customers’ food safety policies and procedure manuals.
Reports to: Regional QA Manager and the General Manager of the facility
Summary of Responsibilities:
DO & CO New York Catering Inc. Food Safety ComplianceMaintain HACCP systemSupplier Audits: 1 a monthAttend all kinds of external audits: customers, local/ federal authoritiesStaff training to Food Safety, personal hygiene, HACCP regulations Weekly report to management Account responsible for chemical products (cost effectiveness, ordering, inventory, training, invoice signing)Account responsible for Waste Removal Supplier; cost effectiveness, hygienic control, technical issues, invoice signingAccount responsible for the external cleaning company, cost effectiveness, cleaning schedule, training, control, invoice signingAccount responsible for the pest control, cost effectiveness, technical issues, invoice signing) Responsible for the Pot Wash crew: shift scheduling, staff related control function, overtime monitoring, vacation planning and disciplinaryFood storage controlFood wastage controlQuality assurance control: customer specifications fulfilled, temperatures correctly kept etc.Responsible for correct counter sample management

Requested skills / suppositions:
· Food Protection Certification
· Proven Food Safety and Quality Insurance Knowledge
· Strong implementation skills
· Highly result orientated
· High level of self-organisation
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Bi-lingual in Spanish/English, with the ability to be an effective communicator in a multi-cultural workforce is a plus
· Ability to work independently and in a team environment
