The Student Intern, under direct supervision will participate in the support, development, testing and deployment of Information Security infrastructure projects using existing and emerging technology platforms. The incumbent collaborates with IT colleagues to understand user requirements, participate in solution development and implementation. - Provide entry level professional services as appropriate to support the day-to-day activities of the Information Security team. - Interact directly with other departments in I.S. to identify and resolve gaps in information security processes. - Participate in projects and programs designed to develop professional skills and expertise pertinent to the needs of the organization. - Research and/or troubleshoot security issues and recommending solution alternatives. - Participate in project management activities and the planning process. Report to management on the status of project efforts and provide work effort estimates. Education: Must be enrolled in a post-secondary education program. A Bachelor's degree program is preferred. Experience: Excellent Customer Service and interpersonal skills; telephone etiquette. Strong oral and written communication skills (technical and non-technical). Demonstrated problem solving skills. Entry level experience of multiplatform telecommunications, network, and desktop knowledge is desired. ** A proved academic interest in information security is strongly preferred.
