The General Manager will manage plant as a profit center operation within established specifications and guidelines on all safety; cost components, quality, sanitation and sound fiscal control.  Lead plant to achieve balanced performance against key measurements and goals established for Safety, Quality, Reliability, People and Financial.  Protect, manage and maximize the use of all company assets including capital spending budget.  Be the initiator and focal point for implementing both short and long range corporate plans and programs to maximize the effectiveness of the operation, specifically accomplishing Safety, Quality, Reliability, People and Financial goals.

Facilitate the evolution to a more diverse and inclusionary environment at Kroger Manufacturing’s KB Foods facility. 

 

Responsibilities:

·        Provide leadership to plant staff management to insure they function to provide maximum plant efficiencies and utilization.

·        Prepare annual operating budgets in conjunction with plant and division staff and execute plans within agreed upon budgetary and time constraints.

·        Insure that plant operates within all corporate and divisional policies and guidelines utilizing corporate resources as appropriate and supports the company Customer First strategy and Kroger Values.

·        Act as local company representative in dealing and complying with governmental agencies such as FDA, EPA, OSHA, etc.  This also applies to the various dealings with our suppliers and local community relations.

·        Insure controls are in place to analyze, react to and minimize cost factors of labor, material, and burden in the plant operations. 

·        Work with Corporate Brands, Affiliated and Custom Sales, Procurement and Research & Development groups to initiate and develop new items.

·        Knowledge of market conditions, competition, new technology, government regulations and supplier information as they apply to the business.

·        Familiarity of ingredients, packaging materials costs and the effect they have on the cost of doing business. Regularly communicate this information to Corporate Brands, Affiliated and Custom Sales, Procurement and Corporate Food Technology.

·        Maintain and operate plant at established levels of Safety, Quality, and Reliability.  Insure highly visible and effective programs in above areas and insure they adhere to division and Corporate guidelines and standards.

·        Recruit, hire and develop human resources for both the plant level and for Kroger Manufacturing. Recruiting, hiring and development activities must reflect a personal commitment to creating a workplace that is increasingly more diverse and inclusionary.

 

Requirements:

·        Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field

·        8-10 years of Food Manufacturing/Processing or equivalent experience.

·        Must possess contemporary managerial skills, and should have desire to learn product knowledge.
