Manager, Data Warehouse

General Responsibilities of Data Warehouse Manager

·        Responsible for the overall architecture, design, development, and maintenance of Business Intelligence (BI) analytical solutions and related services for the entire enterprise’s business function.

·        Manage source data analysis, data modeling, ETL and Business Intelligence tool implementations and configurations.

·        Leadership responsibilities include managing internal technical resources, coordination with various business and technical groups whose support is needed to build or deploy data warehouses/data marts.  

·        Responsible for ensuring all design and development methodologies conform to industry best practices and processes.

 

Management and Leadership Requirements

·        10 -15 years of IT and business/industry work experience with at least 3 years of leadership experience in managing cross-function teams and projects.

·        Experience in planning, development, implementation and maintenance of large scale integrated relational database systems.

Technical Background Requirements

§        Extensive process and data modeling experience

§        A thorough understanding of relational database internals, Star Schema concepts, data warehouse data model and source data

§        Working knowledge of ETL, query and reporting tools

§        Database performance tuning

 

Software Knowledge Requirements

§        DBMS: Oracle

§        ETL: Oracle Warehouse Builder (OWB) or Informatica

 

Desirable Software Knowledge

§        Any major BI tool, such as MicroStrategy or Business Objects

§        Other major DBMSs, such as DB2

§        Data modeling tool, such as Erwin
