Shopper Marketing at ConAgra is a critical function to drive growth and value. This team provides marketing leadership in the field to our top customers who continue to ramp up their marketing capabilities. Some of the key areas to drive value include Innovation launch support, Event management, In-store Merchandising plans, and Category Leadership initiatives. They provide key linkage between the Brand Marketing teams and the Shopper teams to ensure focused plans and execution of growth opportunities.The Manager of Shopper Marketing will support the Director of Shopper Marketing and will be responsible for managing the function within the Shopper Teams in the field offices. Under the leadership of the Shopper Marketing Director, this individual will efficiently work with our customer sales organization, consumer/shopper insights team, Brand management teams and Shopper Marketing Agency to design, develop and execute customer specific marketing for assigned customers. Functions include: strategic planning, creative development, oversee agency implementation, and budget management.This position can be located in either Pleasanton, CA or in Yorba Linda, CA.Position Responsibilities Assists in long range (3 to 5 yr) and annual marketing strategic direction planning for the Shopper Team Supports Shopper Teams in identifying Customer growth opportunities as well as identifies business risks to be mitigated Key contributor on overall Shopper annual business and operating plan Ensures all marketing activity is aligned and consistent with brand objectives and strategies. Leads a wide variety of functional areas to develop and manage marketing objectives, goals, strategies, and tactics for their Brand, which are developed based on consumer needs and market opportunities. Develops on-going recommendations for marketing mix elements and other business building initiatives. Designs, develops and executes customer specific marketing programs for assigned customer to drive consumer behavior, enhance brand building and secure incremental merchandising. Acts as a liaison between Field Sales, Integrated Marketing, Consumer/Shopper Insights and headquarter business teams, including Brand Marketing. Works with Shopper Insights to identify meaningful insights that inform program strategy. Leads the Shopper Marketing program development process utilizing objectives, strategies and available data to build comprehensive annual Shopper Marketing plans for assigned Shopper team. Develops relationship with Customer s Marketing teams to facilitate knowledge sharing to help inform and shape ConAgra Shopper Marketing plans to help build ConAgra reputation. Works closely with Agency, directing the development of creative, program ideas and execution. Counsels marketing teams and agency personnel on the development and implementation of Shopper Marketing programs. Manages implementation of Shopper Marketing programs including: creative, print, production, and legal. Manages assigned Shopper Marketing budget and prepares all period end reports for review with the Shopper Marketing Director. Responsible for reporting Shopper Marketing planning to Shopper Marketing Director and to assigned Shopper team Sr. Sales leadership. Works closely with other cross-functional partners to assure that CAG Corporate initiatives are leveraged and CAG strategic priorities are met.Position Qualifications Bachelors degree required. MBA degree a strong plus. At least 5 years of Brand and/or Integrated Marketing experience Prior experience working with a corporate consumer promotions team in a manufacturing environment; Agency experience a plus. Consumer packaged goods experience required, ideally in food manufacturing. Successful prior experience working with brand management teams to translate marketing objectives into functional co-marketing or consumer promotion strategies and tactics. Proven ability to multi-task and organize the management of co-marketing/consumer promotion execution. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to function effectively in a team environment. Commitment to results; ability to incorporate new learning into existing plans and act decisively.
