Position Description:Develops and leads a strategic records management program that ensures compliance with both U.S. and International legal, governance, financial and regulatory accountabilities. Program components will define "records"; evaluate and address legal and business risks; direct the audit and inventory of records at all company physical locations; address electronic communications; and ensure policy compliance. Leads this function as a key component of the company's Compliance Program.Leads the creation, implementation and enforcement of risk-focused, business-specific records policies applicable to all U.S. and International locations worldwide.Sets global standards for consistent, coordinated records management practices, modifying as necessary to accommodate foreign local law and custom.Defines records management and responsibilities for all locations, business units and departments globally as they pertain to records creation, identification, inventory, retention, storage, transfer and destruction.Responsible for researching and tracking changes in legal and business requirements for records, and creating and implementing retention policies and schedules in accordance with such requirements.Responsible for demonstrating legal compliance to courts of law, and regulatory and government agencies and responds to subpoenas, due diligence and other document requests.Establishes and audits record keeping and records management standards that enforce compliance and that affect internal controls that are evaluated and certified by the CEO and CFO.Develops and implements training and education programs on records policies and programs across business units.Qualifications:Extensive knowledge of and experience in the professional principles and best practices in worldwide records and information management, processes and systems;Minimum 5 to 10 years experience designing, organizing and implementing and enterprise-wide records program with national, multi-office or multi-national entities;Thorough understanding of legal implications of corporate records management;Excellent project management skills;Knowledge of human resources regulations relating to employee privacy preferred;Experience in presenting to and influencing senior management;Minimum four-year degree or equivalent course work in library or information management science or closely related field;Certification in records management (CRM) is desirable;Experience planning and administering departmental budgets.
