This position is responsible for providing direction and support to a production team: ensuring the team abides by all safety and quality standards, leading and executing strategic plant initiatives, including owning and driving Continuous Improvement (CI) tools, and providing business leadership, ensuring achievement of business objectives. This position will be off-shift (2nd or 3rd shift, some weekends necessary), and will report directly to the Operations Manager.Key Responsibilities: Lead, motivate, and support a 15+ person production team composed of operators working in both packaging and processing areas Build the team and drive soft-skill as well as technical development for all team members Manage and coordinate skill training for all members of the production team to meet business needs Qualifications: Bachelors degree required; the following majors preferred: Engineering, Engineering - Industrial, Food Manufacturing Operations, Industrial Technology, Management, Manufacturing, or Operations Management Demonstrated people leadership skills Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and initiatives Ability to plan, lead, and execute strategic initiatives in a complex environment Demonstrated understanding of technology and manufacturing Good analytical and business judgment Problem solving skills Change agent mentality Openness to possibility of out-of-state relocation after 2-5 years a plus Benefits include an annual incentive plan, solid compensation & benefits, training and continuing education reimbursement and immediate paid vacation and holidays. Resumes will be reviewed and you will be contacted if selected for further consideration.  No phone calls or resumes will be accepted at the plant.  General Mills is an Equal Opportunity Employer
