Payroll Associate: Part-Time

SCOPE:

 

This position is responsible for assisting with the timely preparation, processing, and distribution of two in-house payroll runs, while assisting with related payroll functions such as garnishments, reconciliations, system testing, and problem resolution.

 

 

 PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  Will also perform ongoing work with the technical team to solve issues and implement improvements, and maintain the Oracle payroll system.

  Candidate will update the Oracle system with employee level changes affecting gross pay, taxes, deductions, and net pay.

  Will submit and monitor all jobs related to payroll processing in Oracle; will print all output including reports, checks, and direct deposits.

  Will assist with balancing and reconciling all payroll outputs including retro report, payroll registers, labor reports, journal import execution reports, tax filing reports, and additional miscellaneous weekly and monthly reports.

  Will prepare payroll deduction reimbursements, calculate and process employee garnishments, and analyze and maintain the direct deposit process.

  Will assist with incentive processing, special pay requests, running and balancing 401K data, and fiscal and calendar year end W-2 processing and reconciliations.

  Will provide ongoing work with IS support for processing and testing issues; with HR for various file setup, salary, and benefits issues that affect payroll.

  Will assist plants and other departments with payroll-related issues as needed.

 

KNOWLEDGE. SKILLS. COMPETENCIES AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

 

  Candidate must have a strong working knowledge of Oracle Payroll and General Ledger (or comparable), Excel and Word.

  Must possess a high degree of accuracy and excellent time management skills.

  Must be a team player, self-starter, and have outstanding problem-solving skills.

  Must be able to handle confidential information with use of discretion and work in an environment of constant deadlines.

  Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.

  Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in Payroll and/or Accounting required.  Payroll experience preferred.
