Plant Manager - Food Manufacturer in Pageland, SC
SUMMARY
Great opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a new facility opening in Pageland, SC. Our client, a manufacturer of baked goods with national distribution is opening a new facility due to client demand. You will be responsible for plant operation and maintenance. Establish plant policies and procedures that support corporate templates and government regulations. Responsible for plant production goals. Foster a well-trained and motivated staff.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESDirect and coordinate plant operations within company policies and procedures. Responsible for budget for the plant.Maintain a clean and safe plant. Establish and direct plant policies and procedures. Responsible for plant production goals. Foster a well-trained and motivated staff. Coordination of purchasing with corporate accounting and management. Select and train plant supervisory and administrative staff. Assure plant maintenance and facility programs are in compliance and meet goals. Schedule and conduct plant meetings. Responsible for the product quality control for the plant. Attend scheduled corporate training and meetings. Assist in identifying and negotiation with outside contractors.Direct interface with customers.Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS Superior business management skills required. This is normally acquired through a higher level education with 4 year degree in related subject. Direction of plant operations requires significant manufacturing knowledge as well as advanced interpersonal and supervisory skills. This is normally acquired by seven to ten years of manufacturing experience which includes supervisory responsibility. Food processing related training to understand Good Manufacturing Practices, OSHA requirements for plant operations, Government regulations for compliance, American Institute of Baking regulations.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work may involve lifting of materials and product up to 30 pounds. Working in this environment requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots, and hardhats. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.
