Production Manager - Confidential

Production Manager position is available for one of our locations in northern California.  This position plans, coordinates, and manages production and other related activities and is the senior site manager for the location.  In this capacity, the Production Manager will perform functions to ensure the effective utilization of available resources to manufacture and ship high standard, quality products at the lowest cost and in accordance with company objectives. 

 

Major responsibilities are as follows:

 Manage day-to-day production operations as consistent with customer and company requirements.Work with other departments to plan, schedule, and coordinate production activities.Develop, implement, and ensure adherence to goals, objectives, policies, and standard operating procedures for assigned departments.Plan, layout, and assign work.  Hire, train, monitor, discipline, evaluate, and develop employees.  Enforce organizational policies and rules of conduct.Analyze and resolve problems relating to product quality, product quantity, processes, materials, scrap, waste, personnel, etc.Provide technical assistance to employees in the resolution of production problems.Interface with regulatory and third party agencies including OSHA, EPA, Air Quality, Fire Department, AIB, Kosher Council, etc.Ensure employees maintain good housekeeping conditions and comply with safety and sanitation requirements.Plan and recommend the operating budget.  Manage and control expenditures and variances.Maintain productivity, quality, and safety goals, etc.Complete required production reports including downtime, line efficiencies, labor costs, and other key measures.Manage assets and ensure departmental inventory accuracy.Promote excellent performance by assigned departments in accordance with company goals and objectives.Perform other projects/duties as assigned.

Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of production management experience.  Food processing or consumer goods manufacturing/packaging experience is preferred. Must possess the ability to work effectively with all levels of employees in the organization, as well as possess strong management and teambuilding skills.  Lean manufacturing experience is highly desirable.  Results-orientation and high level planning and organizational skills are needed.  Computer proficiency is essential.  Ability to speak Spanish is highly desirable.  Bachelor’s is preferred.
