Protein Ingredients Purchasing Manager - to $120K plus bonus

 

Prepared foods manufacturer needs a Purchasing Manager whose career focus has been in the buying and managing the procurement of Protein ingredients, including beef, pork, poultry. Will be responsible for managing costs in the total supply chain, developing vendor relationship management strategies, assisting the head of Purchasing in developing, implementing and communicating the overall purchasing strategy, managing vendor relationships for the categories, managing relationships with key customers and ensuring delivery; coaching and developing direct reports. Traveling as needed (25+%).

 

MBA preferred, Bachelors degree is required. Must have at least five years of purchasing experience, including three or more years in protein purchasing, such as poultry, beef, pork, fish. Must have management experience leading procurement professionals, developing vendor relations strategies, setting goals for direct reports, managing relationships with key customers.

 

Fruits & Vegetables Strategic Buyer – to $95K plus bonus

 

Do you have experience purchasing fruit and vegetables in very high volume? Experience purchasing fruit and vegetables for a prepared food manufacturer, frozen food manufacturer would qualify.

 

You will be responsible for executing purchasing activities from the development and implementation of the sourcing strategy, to the management of agreements and vendors for a defined category or sub-category. You will build a Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)/supplier ranking matrix, developing fact based negotiation strategies and assist in conducting negotiations with vendors. Develop and manage vendor relationships by tracking performance and communicating vendor performance feedback.

 

Bachelors degree required. 3+ years purchasing experience with 3+ years experience in the fruit and vegetable category; strong commodity knowledge and experience. Should have strong background in purchasing, refined negotiation skills, skills in financial market and vendor analysis. This is a senior level position which requires team leadership expertise and excellent communication skills. CPM certification is a plus.
