Purchasing Analyst

The J. M. Smucker Company, continually ranked by Fortune magazine as one of "The 100 Best Companies to Work for in America," has an immediate opening for a Corporate Purchasing Analyst at their Corporate Headquarters in Orrville, Ohio.  This individual would be responsible for the following:

 

ResponsibilitiesPrimarily, support Purchasing Manager and Buyers with day-to-day purchasing activitiesDevelop detailed market analysis, as directed by Purchasing Manager and Buyers, in preparation for supplier negotiationsConduct supplier performance and spend analysis used in negotiations and supplier managementParticipate in supplier negotiationsCoordinate quote process with suppliers and site level execution agreements between JMS locations and suppliersInterface with JMS cross-functional groups to ensure Purchase-to-Pay process complianceAssist with activities required to plan, source, negotiate, and implement the purchasing of materialsEnsure a smooth flow of materials and services from suppliers to JMS locationsIdentify and implement cost reduction initiativesMaintain raw material and supplier filesAssist with JMS Strategic Sourcing initiatives as directed

Selection CriteriaBachelor’s Degree required Ability to learn and thoroughly understand business processes and proceduresExcellent communication (both written and verbal) and listening skillsStrong analytical and problem solving skillsExcellent computer skillsAbility to take initiative in regards to job responsibilities
