JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITIONPurchasing Assistant / Office Assistant
SUMMARY OF POSITION
Perform diverse administrative duties for the Purchasing and Production departments.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESCommunicate with customers, employees, and other individuals to answer questions, disseminate or explain information, place orders and address complaints. Maintain purchasing and inventory database by performing data entry using a computer. Compile, copy, sort, and file records of office activities, business transactions, and other activities. Reconcile packing lists from shipments received to purchase orders on file daily; forward to accounts payable to be processed for payment. Purchase various materials via phone, internet and store pick up. Operate office machines, such as photocopiers and scanners, facsimile machines, voice mail systems and personal computers. Correspond with suppliers/vendors to obtain quotations and status updates on outstanding purchase orders. Assist with quarterly physical inventory count. Interfaces with sales and customer service teams. Maintain interface with vendors to ensure the procurement of high-quality merchandise, expedient delivery, and dependable service at optimum price.Open, sort and route incoming mail, answer correspondence, and prepare outgoing mail. Review files, records, and other documents to obtain information to respond to requests. Provide administrative support to purchasing and production departments.
SKILLS REQUIRED
A minimum of 1 year experience in an office environment.
High school diploma or GED; college or professional training preferred
Highly motivated person who is able to handle a high volume of work with accuracy
Ability to work independently
Strong work ethic, detail oriented, quick learner, team player, good with people and outgoing personality
Position requires substantial amounts of physical labor, and requires lifting, bending, carrying, pulling, pushing, etc.
Valid Driver’s License with good driving record
Reliable transportation
Position requires candidates to pass the pre-employment screening
