Quality Control
QUALITY CONTROL Sample runs, check ph, test for moistures, shelf life evaluations & more. This is your chance to do it all working for a growing food industry leader.
SUMMARY Tests and inspects products at various stages of production process and compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of both raw products and finished product by performing the following duties
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Test products at specified stages in production process and records test data, applying Quality Control procedures (metal detector logs, refrigeration logs, freezer logs, PH logs, moisture logs, farinograph and COA’s). Monitor quality of raw material and purchased products upon receipt according to Quality Control procedures Visually spot check incoming raw material, take samples to check texture, moisture of flour and others ingredients (receiving and shipping support) Monitor ingredient scaling such as quantities, process of scaling, rotation of raw material, monitor proper paper work fill out and check sanitation procedures in that area Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality Assists in R & D in formulation of recipes, support all the R&D projects, and assist to check and follow up on results. Maintains AIB Sanitation Program Assists Quality Assurance Manager in maintenance and monitoring of HACCP program Will monitor the accomplishment of all Good Manufacturing Practices for all employees, which will be as a follow up of the Food Safety Training Monitor mixing procedures such as: Ingredients weight, water level been used, order of adding mayor ingredients, dough texture, dough temperature, bolita weight, check proper fill out of mixing paperwork, check press sizes, baking, sizes of product coming out of oven, cooling room temperatures, monitor QC belt activities, monitor counter stacker, follow up on safe packaging procedures, spot check finish package weight, seals, monitor code dates and number of package per case, spot check information printed out on the packages and cases vs. special orders parameters Follows through on daily sanitation report Follows through completely on customer feedback forms by addressing the problems directly with assistant plant manager and/or shift supervisor QC technician will take samples of normal run and check pHs, moistures, shelf life test, sticking test, roll up test of our finished tortilla. Also will keep sample in our laboratory for futures references Instruct production employees about standards of quality through on going training and working in conjunction with assistant plant manager and production shift supervisors Assists Quality Manager in establishing standards of QC Supervises and direct utility employees to keep production clean and sanitary, using standards of sanitation and quality control Maintains QC lab in clean and tidy condition Other duties may be assigned
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE One year certificate from college or technical school preferably AIB One year related experience in the food industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience Basic typing and computer operation, Microsoft Office
