The Quality Supervisor will provide leadership and depth of knowledge in food technology to: direct process improvements; perform root cause analyses; provide technical expertise for support and coordination of quality system improvements at our Pontiac Foods facility.

 

Responsibilities:

·        Provide technical assistance to Quality Assurance and Operations in the areas of analytical and processing techniques.  Investigate opportunities in manufacturing processes to improve the quality and the efficiency of the operations.

·        Coordinate QA related activities for test requests, trial runs, initial new product runs and for special custom account requirements.

·        Demonstrate and apply working knowledge of food safety concerns as it applies to products produced at Pontiac Foods.

·        Follow new developments in the food manufacturing and food technology areas.  Evaluate and recommend new processes/new equipment and technologies which may be appropriate to quality assurance and manufacturing.

·        Coordinate the Kosher certification program.  Submit and maintain paperwork for Kosher certification of raw materials and finished goods. 

·        Conduct a regularly scheduled Key Element type assessment for the Corporate Quality/Sanitation Inspection. 

·        Direct a semiannual quality systems review.

·        Follow regulatory and technological changes which may affect the food industry by maintaining professional contacts with peers in Industry, Universities and Government Agencies.

·        Exhibit strong commitment to high standards of quality for all Pontiac manufactured and procured products.

·        Regularly supervise staff to ensure product quality

 

Requirements:

·        Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science or Related

·        2 years of Food Manufacturing Experience, Preferred

·        Proficient with Computer Spreadsheets

·        Ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of statistical process control and of food safety programs
