Position Description:
Safety and Environmental CoordinatorTo help Johnsonville reach our goal to be the "Best Company in the World", a successful candidate will strategically plan, direct, and lead the implementation of safety and environmental programs and guidelines through member ownership to drive best in the world safety culture.You get to:Lead safety and environmental affairs through implementing, creating and driving processes and programs to meet operational needs and maintain and manage compliance.Educate the membership on safety and make it part of the day-to-day thinking, while inserting safety into every related process of our business.Lead efforts to create a safety culture that leverages member ownership, involvement, and personal accountability.Take part in the Company Safety & Environmental Leadership team and facilitate the sharing of ideas between facilities as it relates to S & E.Coach and lead the efforts to develop at least one member as a “back up” in the area of safety.Facilitate Johnsonville’s compliance with all safety regulations, procedures, guidelines and best practices. Facilitate the development and attainment of all safety metric goals.Create the "Safest" Company in the World through innovation, ownership, involvement and drive.Establish systems to maintain compliance with the Company's Stormwater Program, Tier II and form R reporting.Educate team members on Environmental Affairs including upcoming changes in the law, steering team information, new program roll-outs, conservation and sustainable development efforts.Conduct S & E compliance evaluations for facility specific requirements. Qualifications:What You Bring To The Job:Bachelors Degree required.4 years of experience leading safety in a manufacturing environment preferred.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Program Experience such as SARA, EPCRA, CERCLA, SPCC, required.Ability to prioritize and balance multiple ongoing tasks.Strong technical knowledge of regulatory programs in safety.Passionate for safety.Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.Requires travel ( 15%) to work with other facilities /monthly safety mtg's /conferences /seminars etc.
