Great People! Great Beer! Miller Brewing Company has an immediate opening at its Milwaukee brewery for a Safety/Security Manager. This high profile opportunity is responsible for the implementation and management of safety and health programs as well as ensuring compliance with all safety and associated regulatory issues and requirements for the Milwaukee brewery. The position also provides technical support and guidance in complying with State and Federal OSHA, Workers' Compensation and Medical Case management, FMLA, health and safety standard interpretations, and all other safety and security activities. The Safety/Security Manager manages one Health Services Manager, one administrative assistant as well as a Safety Task Force consisting of 2-3 hourly employee assigned full time to Safety. In addition, the individual will supervise the preparation of the various safety, security, and health services reports and conduct surveys and audits of Brewery for identification of safety and security issues. This person in conjunction with the Campus Chief of Security will assist and consult where needed in issues pertaining to Security and emergency response. This position is responsible for training, reviewing and overseeing the performance of subordinates and directs them in their own development of technical and managerial abilities. The position serves as the facility's focal point and principle contact with the various governmental agencies as the principle safety representative of the Plant Manager. In addition to safety responsibilities, this position works closely with the environmental function on the implementation and management of environmental programs as well as emergency and Haz-mat response. Successful candidates will have at least 5-6 years experience as a safety professional in a manufacturing environment. Supervisory experience and experience in a union environment is a plus. Must have a 4 year college degree in Safety or Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, Safety Engineering or related field. CSP or ASP Certification desired. Must have a general understanding of manufacturing environment and the type of production equipment, processes, and systems typically present in such an environment. In depth knowledge of non-discriminatory work practices, OSHA regulations, Workers' Compensation, accident investigation and analysis. Industrial hygiene knowledge also preferred. Proficiency in the use of various security, safety and health and industrial hygiene measurement equipment, i.e., reading and monitoring equipment and security devices is required.Must possess strong written and oral communication, presentation and training skills. Outstanding interpersonal skills, Safety compliance skills in the execution of the facility compliance programs, leadership and management skills as well as the ability to work with diverse groups. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective work and time management skills to successfully manage multiple tasks and balance conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong work ethic with demonstrative initiative and integrity. Professional demeanor and a strong customer service orientation is a must.
