Seafood Merchandiser

Purpose.........

Merchandiser will work with store deli/seafood Department Managers and Store Directors in order to educate the Seafood Person-In-Charge on all aspects of seafood sales, assist in store sales and setting up displays/special seafood promotional events.

Scope............

Responsible for educating all store PIC’s on all Pacific products for retail sale 

Required........

Must be highly motivated, self-starter, able to work well with little or no supervision. Must have a friendly, patient and outgoing personality with emphasis on problem-solving skills. Will have solid communication, both oral and written. Possess the ability to effectively train seafood production and sales techniques. This individual will be extremely flexible, as frequent travel is required. DUTIES

Duties include but not limited to:

Be a role model in projecting and applying The Pacific Group Diamond Philosophy (Productivity, Quality, Excellence and Teamwork) and promote teamwork at all times

Schedule regular visits to all Seafood Departments in Merchandiser’s divisions Educate Seafood

Product knowledge and storage techniques

Proper setting of case displays and product rotation

Reading and understanding schematics

Proper sanitation and handling procedures

Increase awareness of suggestive selling

Follow up and maintain a training program for all new Seafood employees

Implementation of weekend sales events and special promotions

Perform product inspections for quality, weight/counts

Implement regional marketing and sales program rollouts

Incorporate sales techniques and product knowledge to develop seafood PIC professionals for each Seafood Department.

Complete a call report that identifies correct and incorrect procedures with corrective actions needed

Assist with the case set

Assist the division Deli/Seafood Supervisors in writing schematic and weekly merchandising message

Coordinate all seafood extravaganza sale events in all divisions and will be responsible for communicating all products and staffing needs for such events to vendors and stores

Perform other duties, as assignedEDUCATION 

Required........

Ideal candidates will have at least a High School degree or GED. Should possess or should obtain the knowledge, skills, and disciplines needed to carry out the functions assigned to the individual occupying this position.EXPERIENCE 

Required........

Five years or more experience in Retail Seafood sales preferred. Must have a well-rounded Seafood background. High standards for product merchandising, product quality and food safety. Will have basic computer skills in Word and Excel.
