Senior Buyer - Purchasing Agent

We are presently conducting a search for a Senior Buyer – Purchasing Agent. Our client seeks a senior buyer with a minimum of five years of buying experience with the following work experience:

1. Solicits quotes, conducts bid evaluations, evaluates costs, negotiates optimum delivery schedules and ensure the best of combination of price, quantity discounts, product quality, and standard terms and conditions.
2. Communicates with Engineering, Quality Control, Scheduling, Manufacturing and Shipping and Receiving to ensure their requirements are met.
3. Prepares definitive purchase orders, including terms and conditions, makes award and administers contracts with suppliers.
4. Analyze, develop, communicate and coordinate shipping volumes. Minimize forecast errors by tracking and reviewing actual demand.
5. Participate on new product teams/clients to ensure a smooth introduction and product launch.
6. Monitors supplier and inventory performance.
7. Resolves problems related to purchasing, delivery, receiving, and payments to suppliers.
8. Tracks/expedites shortages to ensure on-time shipment of products.
9. Communicates effectively with all levels, relaying all critical information.
10. Coordinates daily cycle count activity and reconciles daily job order variances.
11. Performs other tasks as assigned by department manager.


Position Requirements:
· Minimum of 5 years of purchasing/buying experience
· Ability to read, analyze and interpret utilization reports
· Ability to multi-task, resolve problems and make logical decisions
· Strong preference for experience in a heavily regulated industry, i.e., frozen foods, food products, and/or pharmaceuticals.
· Strong computer (particularly Excel) skills
·Minimum of Bachelors Degree (or equivalent experience)
