Company: Whole Foods Market Status: Part Time Career Level: Entry Level Location: US-NV-Reno Job Category: Food Services/Hospitality Job Description This is currently a part time position at the new Reno Whole Foods Market, a relocation of the nearby Wild Oats facility; there is a possibility of increased hours as business needs require.As a Specialty Team Member you perform all duties related to all Specialty sub department preparation, including coffee: counter service, back stock, sanitation and stocking of all Specialty products. Maintains a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly and efficient Customer Service.  You will ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members. Specialty Team Member Will Do: 1. Provide excellent customer service. 2. Prepare food items: cut, wrap and price cheese. 3. Organize, stock, and rotate while continuously checking and ensuring freshness and quality of products, 4. Stock paper goods and other supplies as needed. 5. Prepare and maintain organized, clean and appealing active and passive demos. 6. Continually check and ensure all products for proper quality, presentation and freshness. 7. Maintain accurate spoilage log. 8. Assist in monthly inventory. 9. Comply with all applicable State of California Health and Safety Codes. 10. Follow established Weights and Measures procedures (tares). 11. Maintain and continually clean and keep department organized. 12. Perform other duties, as assigned by Team Leader, buyer, supervisor or store leadership.   Must Have/Be: 1. Entry level position. Some Specialty experience preferred. 2. Ability to perform physical requirements of position. 3. Willingness to taste and evaluate all products offered in department. 4. Ability to prioritize tasks. 5. Understanding and ability to effectively communicate Quality Standards to customers. 6. Proficiency in math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division). 7. Ability to learn proper use of baler (must be 18 years of age or older), slicer, heat wrap, pasta cutter machine, knives and all other equipment used during food preparation and clean up. 8. Ability to work well and communicate with others as a part of a team. 9. Understand the importance of accurately noting all waste, spoilage and transfers. 10.
