Specification Technologist

Specification Technologist Maintain a customer based Technical Library meeting the timelines and content accuracy to exceed the customer’s expectation. Develop and maintain specifications of finished products, review and approve labels, artwork and pack copy of new products in addition to maintaining changes to existing products. This position requires adherence to strict timelines, attention to detail, and superior communication skills in coordinating with multidisciplinary team members.   Consult with Sales & Marketing, Supply Chain, Process Technologists, and Technical & Quality members to gather information for the development of finished product specifications. Input the following types of information into the Technical Library: recipes, ingredients, nutrition facts, dietary and allergy data, packaging details, finished product standards, process steps, quality control points, storage requirements. Troubleshoot missing, inconsistent or ambiguous information. Facilitate discussions to achieve agreement on Technical Library content. Create new specifications on seasonal items, new products and customer specialty items. Proof and make suggestions on labels, artwork or other new product development related to the Technical Library. Function as Technical Library expert for colleagues on finished products, product changes, process, labels, or product related topics. Develop and maintain environmental swab testing program, swab test sites and oversee submission of swabs and samples to outside laboratory. Tracks and trend microbiological results of finished goods, raw materials and environmental swabs. Investigates out of specification findings on microbiological results Communicate out of spec lab results to Technical team and Sanitation team where applicable. Maintain all micro COAs and related micro records.
