Supplier Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 



This position manages a range of planning and sales execution activities that are within the functional responsibility of S&OP. The core responsibilities of the role are:

 

PlanningResponsible for managing the day-to-day liaison with assigned Suppliers of dairy products to Fonterra.Responsible for planning the matching of supply capabilities with demand and communicating that supply capability into Fonterra’s S&OP planning processResponsible for negotiating supply with assigned Suppliers within volume, price and lead time guidelines set by Purchase Agreements and S&OP Product Group Teams. 

ExecutionResponsible for managing the day-to-day execution activities with Suppliers of dairy products to Fonterra and, as required, supply chain service providers.Responsible for monitoring execution performance of Supplier and Supplier Administrator and driving improvement on OTIFIS, AD consumption or similar KPI’s.To ensure the Supplier complies with Customer, Country (regulatory) and Fonterra requirements.Responsible for ensuring Fonterra payments to Supplier and Service Providers are timely and accurate

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITY:

 

Supplier Relationship ManagementBuild and maintain excellent working relationships with assigned suppliersDevelop and apply an in-depth knowledge of suppliers, their requirements and the market environment and dynamics in which they competeTightly align supplier and planning processes with procurement activities. Serve as a trusted and knowledgeable resource for suppliers when the introduction of new policies/procedures will affect or change the way procurement activities are handled Identify areas where supplier relationships may be compromised and promote understanding and solutionsShare data and insights with other Fonterra business units in order to facilitate continuous improvement in supply planning processesAppreciate the multicultural nature of Fonterra ensuring all supplier interaction is handled with a degree of cultural sensitivity.

PlanningProvide D1/D2 to Supplier each month.Obtain supply forecast from each Supplier.Review Demand (D1/D2/Contracted)Match Demand and Supply in discussion with supplier taking into account stock and purchase agreement commitmentsSend Supply Gaps/Surpluses to Product Group Confirm requirement schedule with SupplierEnsure Purchasing Information Records (PIR) Master Data are maintained in SAP R/3Discuss product mix with supplier to fulfill prioritized supply gaps Ensure specification range for supplier is complete

ExecutionMonitor and manage execution, including exception managementEnsure supplier is being paid in a timely and accurate mannerMonitor and report consumption of AD and/or stockEnsure Fonterra S&OP and relevant Operating Company is always aware of Inventory (committed and uncommitted to a sale), forward product purchase commitments and any financial commitments relating to the securing of export pre-fixations. Provide agreed reporting on MOPs performance of assigned suppliers.

Manage StaffAssist in the leadership of the Supplier Coordinator

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:Strong relationship building skillsProficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Dairy experience a plusStrong analytical skillsMust be very detail oriented and self motivated.Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work efficiently

 

EDUCATION:Must have BS degreeMinimum 5-10 years of experience
