Currently, we are looking for qualified, diverse individuals to apply for the following position:The Site Technical Manager provides technical leadership for the site with responsibility for planning, organizing and directing all the Engineering (Mechanical & Electrical) Continuous Improvement, Reliability and Maintenance activities and resources on the site. The successful candidate will have proven experience in managing managers in a fast moving consumer packaged goods environment. Strategic agility, managing vision & purpose, managerial courage, proven people developer and coach & mentor of associates at all levels will be natural. The Technical Manager is also a key member of the plant staff. Key Responsibilities Manage engineering projects required to achieve the plant strategy and the operating plan Along with the Plant and Central Industrial Engineering manage the site’s capital budget to support the site’s 5-year strategy and meet key Strategic Business Unit (SBU) objectives Insure asset strategies provide flexibility to meet changing business requirements Responsible for supporting an annual Capital Appropriations Budget (CAB) in conjunction with central engineering Responsible for supporting and directing the work of the central engineering groups; including associate development and execution of project activities Responsible for the management of all site assets to provide a safe, efficient operation Through Maintenance Teams insure an effective planned/preventive/predictive maintenance program is in place Manage technical non-exempt resources with responsibility for continuous improvement activities Manage the operation and assets of the stockroom Manage the operation of the utility area and deliver reliable service at the least cost Visible thought and activity leadership driving a Lean Continuous culture at the site Key Skills A strong technical understanding of process, packaging, utilities, control, and power distribution systems A strong technical understanding of maintenance practices and risk management techniques Demonstrated ability to effectively manage technical associates through effective implementation of the Five Principles, team building processes, and good communication An in-depth understanding of all functions within a plant and possesses the ability to work effectively with associates at all levels in the organization An understanding of FDA and OSHA policies and regulations Principle based management knowledge Project Management expertise Management of Capital Expenditures, Cash Flow and Budget Control Demonstrated track record as a people developerMinimum Qualifications 8 years of experience in the food processing industry 6 years in a technical role and 5 years of managerial experience Four-year accredited Bachelors Degree in Engineering Ability to travel up to 25% The knowledge, skills, and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program in a related field, or equivalent work experience Successful completion of a drug and background screen Preferred Qualifications 9+ years of experience in the food processing industry 7+ years in a technical role and 5 years of managerial experience Master degree in Engineering or an MBA is a plus Lean Manufacturing background As a privately-held, family-owned company, Mars North America offers benefits which reflect our commitment to attracting and retaining great people.
