Topping Production Supervisor 2nd shift

Position Summary:

Responsible for the supervision and coordination of Production and Packaging departments within specified shift. Must know all aspects of each department and be familiar with their operation and personnel. Must perform the essential duties and responsibilities outlined below.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Maintains a high standard of quality for the products produced and adheres to company/customer specifications.Establishes effective employee relations. Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve established departmental goals.Complies with product scheduling needs.Controls hourly employee wages including but limited to overtime.Maintains an effectively-trained work force.Focuses on material usage.Facilitates in the controlling of inventory by properly using Ross system and monitoring the use of Ross by employees.Interprets company policies to workers.Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of the product.Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of department, line or team.Analyzes production and packaging problems, and assists team members in solving them.Maintains and monitors process control paperwork in accordance with HACCP recommendations, including but not limited to: SPC weight control.Ensures accurate paperwork.Responsible for maintaining a sanitary and safe work environment.Confers with other Leads and Supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.Abides by and enforces Nation Pizza Products’ SOP’s.Follow all company policies & procedures as well as the GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices).Report any unsafe or hazardous work conditions or safety-related issues to Management.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly supervise 39-100 employees in the pizza production/packaging/repack departments.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.  Essential Skills and Experience:

 

  Education:

·  3 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Skills and Experience:

·  Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English.

·  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

·  Ability to speak effectively before groups.

·  Ability to speak Spanish a plus.

·  Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 

·  Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out simple instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

·  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee frequently is required to walk and talk or hear.  The employee is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and taste or smell.  The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.



Work Environment:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts.  The employee is frequently exposed to airborne particles.  The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places. Employee may be exposed to extreme hot or cold temperatures.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.

 

Organizational Structure:

The Topping Supervisor will report directly to the Topping Operations Manager.
