Location: Toronto, ONYour location:home   »  find a job   »  advanced search   »  job description Send this Job to a Friend Vice President, Logistics Reports To: Senior Vice President, Sales & Distribution Direct Reports: 6  Location: Toronto, Ontario Compensation: The compensation includes a base salary in the $195,000 – $210,000 range plus a bonus targeted at 35% as well as a comprehensive benefits package. Final compensation will be dependent on the successful candidate’s background and experience level. The Company: Our client is a leader in the Canadian food and beverage industry, offering quality products to consumers worldwide. With strong core values, our client continues to build a strong leadership team, and is well-positioned for continued future growth.  The Mandate: The Vice President, Logistics is a member of the Company’s Leadership Team. This individual will be charged with optimizing the DSD system through enhancement of both technical and operational processes.  Inherent in this mandate is the ability to lead change management initiatives which will include setting and articulating strategic direction which will in turn foster positive employee engagement and buy-in.  The successful candidate will need to: · Actively participate as a member of the Company’s Leadership Team· Optimize the DSD operation· Assess, evaluate and recommend changes as required on the current Warehouse Management System in order to support company strategies and future objectives with the support of the I.S. team· Through competitive and best practice analysis, strategize and evaluate possible integrations of new industry tools and technology· Ensure the development and adherence to inbound Logistics and Supply processes· Optimize National Demand Planning and Order Management as well as Logistics Network Costs· Lead change initiatives and communicate expectations and desired outcomes· Analyze, identify issues to control Sales Waste· Develop and implement strategies and coach direct reports to drive success across key areas of accountability· Play a major role in possible future business acquisitions  Ideal Candidate:  · Bachelor degree in Business, Logistics and/or Systems or equivalent is required (with a strong successful background in DSD and Logistics); emphasis in Supply Chain Management is preferred· Minimum 5+ years’ in a similar Vice President role· Strong preference to food industry experience or applied and proven exposure within DSD settings· Proven background and experience in dealing with unions including union negotiations and interpreting collective agreements· Direct experience with Demand Planning, Forecasting and Transport Engineering· Strong analytical skills and understanding of statistical process control· Exhibited experience in successfully impacting change through continuous improvement or reengineering efforts· Excellent English written and oral communication skills (French is an asset)· A team player that can work effectively with all levels of an organization· Ability and willingness to travel 40% of the time To apply for this position: All submissions are confidential.
