WORKERS' COMPENSATION SPECIALIST

Workers’ Compensation Specialist:

The Workers’ Compensation specialists will have primary responsibility to process claims, determine proper claim handling, appropriate reserving, reasonable settlement options, and timely closing of claims. Will be responsible for processing, managing, filing all company wide workers’ compensation claims for all business entities. Requires knowledge of workers’ compensation laws for a variety of states primarily California. Must have working knowledge of reserves and postings and proven success in closing claims quickly. Establishes return to work programs for injured workers, monitors process. Ensures compliance with OSHA and statutory reporting requirements. Assumes full responsibility for all phases of claim management for accounts as assigned and works with business entities to discus management of claims, trends, costs etc. Investigates injuries. Works directly with Broker and Insurance carrier to properly review claims. Develops safety program, implements and monitors program for all entities. Is main contact for all business entities. Position reports to the Director of Human Resources.

Minimum qualifications 4 years minimum experience in the Workers’ Compensation field. Previous experience designing and implementing safety programs, proven record of reducing claims and experience mod in workers’ compensation, working knowledge of large deductible plans. Previous experience as an insurance claims rep. preferred. Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
