Position Purpose Wine Stewards at Giant Eagle will create point of difference from our competition by enhancing the customer shopping experience by offering recommendations for wine, food, and entertainment. Our well-trained, knowledgeable Wine Stewards will help develop and enforce Giant Eagle’s Passion for Food.Wine Stewards will enable our stores to capture additional gross profit by generating incremental sales and creating opportunities to suggestively sell products through long-term relationships that are developed with our customers.  To achieve established corporate goals by providing assistance, education, cross-selling and up-selling to Giant Eagle customers while also developing merchandising programs to create efficient use of resources and develop points of difference to increase profitability to promote future growth in the Beer/Wine/Liquor Businesses.  JOB FUNCTIONS  Essential:§ Assist customers with B/Wit purchases by providing knowledgeable recommendations and suggestions.§ Educate customers on wine consumption and food pairing.§ Develop and execute merchandising programs as set out by the strategic business plans regarding the B/Wit Businesses to maintain and improve sales and gross profit, and provide feedback on the effectiveness of the business plans.§ Review, analyze, and accountability for store B/W/L financial reports, customer satisfaction index, and communicate ideas for improvement to the B/W/L director.§ Monitor stores adherence and personally adhere to company and Ohio state laws, policies, and procedures.§ Develop unique customer tasting and dinner programs.§ Monitor stocking and receiving of B/Wit products.§ Maintain audit lists, inventory reduction plans, and retail strategies for their specific stores to ensure the most efficient operation of the department.§ Participate in “in-store” team meetings and/or regional meetings.§ Participate in on-going product and customer service training programs.§ Assist with identifying and implementing marketing techniques to drive sales and deliveries. POSTING #116-08 This is a Part Time position based out of the Columbus Region.
