Background
British Management Services (BMS) in New York serves both the British Consulate General and the UK Mission to the United Nations. The Accounts & Human Resources Assistant role plays a key role within BMS and is involved in the day to day tasks that keep both offices functioning. Based in the Consulate General, the Accounts & Human Resources Assistant will work between both locations, extending the services described below.
Main Duties:
· Overall responsibility for Local and UK Based staff accreditation’s, including organising staff’s driving licence and employment authorisation applications
· Manage and update the British Consulate-General, New York’s account
· Process incoming invoices and liase with our central accounts team
· Receive and process daily Consular fees
· First point of contact with Office Machinery vendors in relation to maintenance and service issues
· Reporting service problems and requesting changes to the Consulate’s phone system via our contracted service provider.
· Provide support when required to the Human Resources Officer
· Act as Training Liaison Officer and assist with the facilitation of training at the
Consulate-General and UK Mission to the UN
· In the absence of the Management Assistant, provide back up cover.
Skills and Experience Requirements
· Good organisational skills, reliable, ability to work independently under pressure and as part of a team, strong interpersonal skills and a proactive attitude.
· Conversant with Microsoft Office and have sound computer literacy skills. A working knowledge of Oracle would be an advantage.
Appointment is subject to successful completion of reference checks and security clearance.
