ASSISTANT DIRECTOR HR-POLICIES, PROCEDURES and SPECIAL PROJECTS

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA), the nation’s most dynamic and complex mass transit system, whose network of subways, commuter rail lines, buses, bridges and tunnels move over 8 million people daily, is seeking an experienced Human Resources professional to join our Human Resources department. Reporting to the Director, Human Resources the successful candidate will be accountable for the creation, maintenance, update, and communication of MTA Agency-Wide Human Resources Policies and Procedures. Incumbent will be also be involved in short and long term special projects covering all facets of Human Resources, including the administration of compensation programs.

BA/BS (or equivalent in progressively responsible experience) plus a minimum of ten years of Human Resources experience, five years of which must have been at a management level. Proven experience and background in policy and procedure development, a must. Experience in Compensation is highly desirable. PC proficiency including strong knowledge of business PC software with an understanding of data storage and imaging. Outstanding communications skills, both oral and written, strong project management skills and the proven ability to manage multiple projects while simultaneously building consensus among groups that reflect the values and mission of the MTA, required. PeopleSoft experience is highly desirable.
