JOB DESCRIPTION
The selected candidate will report directly to the Assistant Commissioner, Facilities Operation and Capital Construction and will manage and direct the operations of the Materials Management Department related to purchasing, receiving, storage, inventory control, forms management, and supply distribution to all OCME facilities in the five boroughs. Incumbent must ensure efficient and cost effective acquisition, utilization and distribution of equipment and supplies. S/He will manage subordinate staff, ensuring the implementation of polices and procedures as well as ensuring efficient and cost effective acquisition of all purchased merchandise. This position will have an emergency management role in coordinating supply distribution and maintenance of emergency use items for appropriate events. The selected candidate will be responsible for the implementation and establishment of new policy and procedures for the storeroom.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1. Six years of full-time progressively responsible experience in warehousing operations at least 18 months of which must have been in a managerial or administrative capacity requiring independent decision-making concerning management or planning, allocation of resources and the scheduling and assignment of work;
2. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" above. Education may be substituted for the general administrative experience (but not for the 18 months of managerial experience described above) at the rate of 1 year of college for 6 months of experience up to a maximum of 4 years of college for 2 years of experience. NYC Residency required within (90) ninety days of appointment.
LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
A valid New York State Driver's License
