Chenega Integrated SystemsJob Description Company Job Title: Guard II, Armed (Air Force)Chenega Job Title: Guard II, Armed (Air Force)Location: Various Reports To: Shift Supervisor FLSA Status: Regular, Non-Exempt, Service Contract Act Prepared Date: 08/31/2007 Approved Date: 08/31/2007Summary:The Armed Security Officer shall provide services for Installation Entry Control (IEC), Commercial Vehicle Inspection (CVI) and Visitor Control Center (VCC), at Air Force installations. Due to the criticality of the security mission, these requirements shall be performed 100% of the time without deviation or error. The Officer will protect and prevent loss of materials or processes, which are important for national defense, public health or safety, or their value as national treasures. The Officer does not act in the capacity of a law enforcement officer, and has no arrest or apprehension powers. The Officer is armed with a side arm, shotgun, or other weapons as required. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position1. Shall deter, detect, detain, and mitigate, by use of necessary force, persons suspected of committing offenses such as drunk driving, improper transport of drugs, explosive materials or weapons, and trespassers or persons who illegally gain or attempt to gain access to military bases. Such personnel will be detained until Officers are able to turn them over to law enforcement authorities2. Maintain control of personnel and vehicles entering the installation in accordance with the local installation plans, policies, and post limitations.3. When required, the contractor will also control all personnel and vehicles departing the installation in accordance with local installation plans and policies. Entry control requirements will vary according to Force Protection Conditions (FPCON). 4. Ensure vehicles display valid installation vehicle registration decals (DD Form 2220) or Visitor Pass (AF Form 75).5. Perform checks of individual identification.6. Perform inspections of vehicles.7. Issue Visitor Passes at gates.8. Direct traffic at gates.9. Perform emergency procedures for gate closure.10. Detain unauthorized individual(s) attempting to illegally gain access.11. Prior to base entry, all commercial vehicles shall be inspected to ensure no unauthorized vehicles, personnel, or materials enter the installation. Inspections will be conducted in a safe manner while maintaining control of all personnel and vehicles during inspection. Vehicle inspection requirements will vary according to FPCON. 12. Conducts inspections of commercial vehicles at the designated vehicle inspection point in accordance with the DoD and Air Force Guidelines, and local procedures. Inspections include the interior of the vehicle cab, bed/box, trunk, trailer, under the hood, and underside of the vehicle.13. Inspections include the use of various government furnished equipment such as mirrors, hand-held/desktop explosive detectors, X-Ray units, under vehicle surveillance systems, and support to the handler of any employed Military Working Dog Team.14. The local Transportation Management Office (TMO) shall be contacted to verify arrival of explosive laden vehicles. Direct explosive laden vehicles to local designated holding areas and receiving points.15. Perform applicable tasks in associated with installation access at gates designated specifically for commercial vehicle traffic in accordance with local procedures.16. Shall provide accurate and expedient service while maintaining control of all personnel during required document verification and vehicle pass processing prior to entering the installation. Will be required to provide the following services a. Determine there is a valid need to enter the installation. b. Review local installation driver revocation and debarment listings prior to issuance of pass media. c. Verify required documentation. d. Issue visitor passes (AF Form 75) according to AF and local procedures. e. Issue vehicle passes (AF Form 2220) according to AF and local procedures.17. May be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.18. Will be armed with either pistol or shotgun and will be required to exercise force up to and including deadly force.19. Will draw assigned weapon.20. Will participate in Officer Mount, receive assigned post, and copy any extra instructions.21. Will carry out general and special orders for post assigned.22. Will communicate via radio, telephone and orally according to general and special; orders.23. Required to interact with public and military personnel.24. Required to operate effectively in an Air Force environment, sensitive to Air Force customs and courtesies.25. Will provide access control, traffic control and conduct walking and motorized security Officer functions.26. Will be responsible for cleanliness of uniform and equipment assigned.27. Will follow applicable standard operating procedures and Air Force regulations pertaining to security of weapons, buildings, personnel, government property and equipment.28. Will not remove firearm from installation, required to turn in after shift. 29. Required to follow all company personnel and safety policies, and perform all assigned duties in a safe work manner30. Other duties may be assigned.SupervisionNone.Minimum Qualifications•U.S. Citizenship•Must be at least 21 years of age. •Must speak, read, write, and understand English. •Each Officer position requires the ability to obtain a favorable National Agency Check (NAC)•Successfully pass initial and random drug screens•Must successfully pas medical exam and Standardization Evaluation Assessment/TrainingEducation and/or Experience •Minimum of GED or high school diploma. •Successful completion of a law enforcement discipline; or completed a bona fide law enforcement course of instruction desirable. •Successfully completed all training and have obtained all required permits, licenses, certifications and security clearances for the site. •Have knowledge of procedures on use of wire and radio communications and report writing.Computer Skills Have basic knowledge in the use of computers and associated operating systems.
