Army Force Structure/Readiness Analyst
The Force Analysis Program (Bill McKelvey) in the Defense Analysis and Transformation Division (Jim Hooper) of the National Security Solutions Operation (Mark Barbour) has an urgent and immediate need to fill a defense analyst position on-site with the Army's G3 Readiness Division located in the Pentagon. Individual will be expected to transfer to this program for this funded long-term contract position. Job Description: Provide customer-site support to the Army G-3 Readiness Division with analysis and assessments of readiness related data, policies, programs, and issues. Conduct research and provide assessments of OSD, Joint and Army Staff policies and programs to determine Army readiness implications. Conduct assessments of Army readiness data to identify readiness trends and issues for resolution. Prepare decision documents and briefings, and make presentations to senior officials. Education/Skills: BA/BS required and MA/MS preferred, in Business, History, or a Strategic Studies related field. Required Skills: Top Secret Clearance and recent HQDA staff experience. Two years or more experience at HQDA level, with additional experiences at Major Command or Direct Reporting Unit level in the areas of force management and readiness reporting. Minimum of 16 years of honorable service with the US Army. Disciplined analytical approach to problem solving. Ability to identify problems, develop alternatives, pursue tradeoffs and recommend hard choices as they apply to military operations, unit readiness, force planning, and programming. Superior analytical writing and public speaking skills. Proficiency with the MS Office Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Desired Skills: Joint Staff or Joint Headquarters experience; Army ORSA training; familiarity with Army force structure, PPBE process, Army readiness reporting and issues, and MS Office Access.
