Assistant Commissioner

Salary Range: $115k - $150k

Job Description: The NYC Department of Environmental Protection seeks an Assistant Commissioner, Program Management Support within the Bureau of Engineering Design and Construction. Working closely with the Deputy Commissioner and the Assistant Commissioner for Engineering, will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all operational and administrative support functions; and developing and implementing policies and programs focused on improving the efficiency and capability of technical engineering and project management staff to provide for successful delivery of the capital program. Will centralize and optimize the operational and administrative responsibilities of the Bureau to allow technical staff to focus more effectively and comprehensively on managing scope, quality, cost and schedule of capital projects to improve capital project delivery systems, tools, and staffing to better manage the $15 Billion in currently active contracts and prepare for the additional $27 Billion in identified needs over the next ten years.

Qualifications: A master's degree from an accredited college in a related field and two years of satisfactory full-time professional experience working with the budget of a large public or private concern of which 18 months must have been in an executive, managerial, administrative or supervisory capacity; or a bachelor's degree and five years of professional experience including two years of executive, managerial, administrative or supervisory experience as described above.
