Business Analyst - Organizational Development consultant

This individual will ideally have "big 5" project management experience.  We are particularly interested in candidates that have managed projects that have dealt with Business process improvement efforts. 

 



Duties:

* Assesses effectiveness of organization structure by studying clarity of mission, strategy, objectives, priorities, division of work, accountabilities, and communication systems.



* Assesses utilization of human resources by studying staffing resources, job result outcomes, succession plans, and career development.

*Conducts workload analysis and recommends workforce and resource requirements based on findings.  Makes recommendations for functional requirements and the realignment of resources. 

*Develops "concept of operations" papers for senior executive review and buy in for recommended organizational changes. 



* Diagnoses organization problems by examining performance records; surveying and interviewing managers and employees regarding efficiency, and effectiveness.



* Resolves organization problems by presenting and evaluating options; guiding decisions; recommending courses of action.

*Develops frameworks for and facilitates work groups and other planning sessions for senior and staff level audiences as required.

*Maintains project schedule and acts as a liaison between several client groups to ensure project outcomes are being met. 



* Improves organization results by identifying potential projects; introducing new practices; presenting action plans; defining and recommending policies and procedures; designing and conducting team building and management training.



* Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.



* Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.



Skills/Qualifications:

Experience required in the following categories:

1. Analysis and planning

2. Organizational design

3. Project management

4. Research methods

5. Survey design (highly desired)

6. Excellent writing skills

7. Stand-up facilitation experience

8. Training design (highly desired)



Qualifications and Characteristics:

 Candidates must be U.S. citizens  Candidates must be local to the Washington, DC area or able to relocate quickly Masters degree is desirable with at least 5 years of federal or commercial consulting (federal experience a significant plus). Graduate degree in Organizational Development, MBA or other relevant field is preferred however, deep practical experience (10+ yrs experience) can supplement the lack of a graduate degree  Certification in Project Management is a plus  Extensive experience leading and partnering with integrated client/consultant teams with multiple dependencies and risks.Team players are required.
