Business Development Analyst
Project Overview (Brief overview of project, client, scope & objectives) The Business Development Analyst (BDA) will primarily work to support the business development efforts of the DGS Inc. Position Summary Responsible for identifying and researching potential business opportunities for Agility in the United States. Compliments Business Development Managers (BDMs) throughout the capture management process by conducting various types of research and data compilation related to both specific opportunities as well as the market as a whole. Acts as a facilitator and coordinator throughout the Business Development and Proposal Writing Process by providing the capture team with insight throughout all aspects of the decision making process. Coordinates with other areas of the company, as well as with outside organizations in order to facilitate the creation of teams and synchronize resources while preparing for government business opportunities. Must be able to identify gaps in procedure within the organization and develop systems and protocol to adequately address those areas, and then initiate and maintain those procedures throughout the organization. Assists in training and coaching new employees and works closely with the Director to plan and implement team building techniques. Key Result Areas (Responsibilities) 1. Action: Search for new business opportunities Objective: Identification of business opportunities Result: Help secure new business Action: Conduct Research Objective: Obtain and analyze information relevant to the success of the capture process Result: Higher chance of securing a new opportunities Action: Data Management Objective: Organize data into a coherent and user-friendly format Result: Reports, presentations, and graphs to support the capture process. Job Context/Working Environment 75% in office, 25% traveling to satellite offices / site visits. May include international travel. Communication and Working Relationships Must be able to interact over the phone, internet, and in person, in order to identify and develop business opportunities and conduct the corresponding research. Requires highly developed interpersonal skills and will need to build relationships with individuals in government and commercial businesses. Framework, Boundaries, Decision Making Authority and Responsibility Must possess the ability to operate in a highly dynamic environment, work independently and creatively with minimal guidance, organize and prioritize multiple tasks, and operate on a flexible schedule. Mandatory Knowledge, Skills and Experience 1. Ability to work under tight-deadlines and multi-task 2. Experience with data management / organization 3. Ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. 4. Intermediate skills in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Web-Based applications. 5. Bachelors Degree required. Desired Skills, Knowledge, Attributes, Experience Level 1. Basic understanding of military / government structure. 2. Intermediate skills in Customer Relationship Management software helpful. 3. Experience preparing presentations 4. Experience giving and preparing oral presentations for leadership and/or team members.
