Complete managerial responsibility for all aspects surrounding accounting and financial reporting of the CT/RI assigned unit. Also, to provide input regarding the operations of the assigned unit as well as departmental policies, procedures and budgeting.Responsible for group budgetary and manpower efficiencies. Develops actionable, comprehensive programs to fulfill objectives of the department, division and UnitedHealth Group. Evaluates and uses technology to enhance operational efficiencies and group performance. Makes enhancements to system of internal controls. Provides comprehensive balanced advice on Finance Policies. Frequently interacts with senior leadership, inside and outside the organization. Manages and thoroughly monitors strategic projects that have an impact inside and outside of Finance. Assigns, directs, reviews and prioritizes work activity of managerial and staff personnel. Influences actions of peers inside and outside of Finance. Mentors, motivates performance, manages, makes employment and compensation decisions related to staff.Ability to provide objective, analytical evaluation of staff and their work product. Effective coach and mentor to management and staff personnel. Ability to source, select, develop, promote and retain top financial talent. Act as a change agent within and outside Finance. Requires confidence in challenging and making difficult decisions related to personnel/business issues. Possess a strong work ethic, independence and dependability. Continues to grow professionally. Able to highlight issues / problems and convey complex thoughts, written and oral, in a clear, concise and timely manner. Takes on broad new challenges.10 or more years broad experience in Finance disciplines. Strong working knowledge of financial systems, statements and reports. Previous managerial experience on professional finances staff. Advanced knowledge of Health Care industry. BS in Finance or Accounting or equivalent experience.
