Essential Functions: This position is responsible for training users in the use of Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) software that is in use throughout the Judiciary. Assesses training needs, recommends training programs and develops user training modules for District and Circuit Court users. Provides PC user support for commercial software packages, including WordPerfect 7, WordPerfect 9, Lotus Notes R5, MS Excel 2000, MS PowerPoint 2000, and Desktop Publishing. Provides on-site hardware and software training and documentation support for all levels of the Judiciary. Some intrastate travel is required.



Education: Bachelor’s Degree in an Information Technology or closely related field is required.

Experience: Minimum of three years of successful training experience, preferably in the area of computer applications.

Note: Additional relevant experience may be substituted for required degree on a year for year basis.

Preferred: Prior technical writing and/or computer applications problem troubleshooting experience. Familiarity with Adobe PhotoShop, PaintShop Pro, PowerPoint, Word, Access, and Excel.

Skills/Abilities: Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills. Ability to work well within a team environment. Ability to develop, modify and deliver custom training programs to system users. The ability to identify and assist in troubleshooting user-defined problems to appropriate technical personnel. Ability to operate hardware: terminals, personal computers, printers, peripherals, etc., used throughout the court system. Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and be able to travel to training sites throughout the State of Maryland. Ability to perform all of the essential functions of the position.
