OPPORTUNITY: The role of the Compliance Investigator is vital to the efficient functioning of Rincon Gaming Commission. This position will monitor casino activities, observe customers, employees, transactions and reporting requirements to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Tribal Gaming Laws and Regulations. Investigates and reports deficiencies or violations and conducts follow-up to ensure implementation of appropriate corrective action. This position requires training by the Chief Compliance Officer. Previous Law Enforcement or Gaming investigative skill preferred.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma; prefer 2 year regulatory, auditing or investigative related experience and/or training Equivalent combination of education and experience. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required. The Employee must have competent computer skills, knowledge of Windows, Word, Excel, and Access preferred. The Employee Knowledge of public relations/customer service practices and procedures. Ability to read, analyze, interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to perform extensive interviews. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to accurately present Investigative report information for possible criminal prosecution. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as multiplication, addition, subtraction, fractions. Knowledge of percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations desirable. Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Must have superior interpersonal skills. Ability to testify in a appropriate court system.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Monitor shipping, receiving, installation, relocation, removal, storage, etc. of gaming devices for security and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Ensure accurate records are maintained on same. Learn to utilize Kobetron and Dataman equipment for the purpose of testing gaming device computer control chips for verification of validity and authorized programming. Maintain control over access to sensitive areas of gaming devices. Assists with monitoring table games and drops for compliance. Assist with monitoring count room activities for compliance. Works closely with the Chief of Compliance Officer, Auditors, Surveillance personnel, and Background Investigators as well as appropriate casino personnel in fulfilling responsibilities. Thoroughly investigate any lose of tribal assets. Coordinate with local Law Enforcement investigative with investigations. Assists with ensuring that the casino fulfills all of its reporting requirements including but not limited to: Title 31, IRS, NIGC, State and Commission reports and assessments. Learns to monitor log sheets for keys, liquor sweeps, and machine movements. Any other duties as assigned by the Chief Compliance Officer and/or Executive Director.
