Computer Aide - Web Content

Position Title: Computer Aide - Web Content
Position Type: Seasonal (Six-Month Contract)
Salary: $22.99/hour (35-hour workweek)
Location: New York, NY

The New York City Department of Parks & Recreation New Media Division seeks an experienced and motivated web content coordinator for site maintenance and development. The coordinator will be responsible for assisting with the division’s Web Content Management, Online Events and E-Blast Systems; editing and creating written content for the web; working with agency divisions to maximize their presence on the web; and facilitating communications with the Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications.

To join our team of talented programmers, designers, and developers, you must possess relevant skills and professional experience, including:
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience working with web technologies
- Collaborative experience working on a web development team
- An associate degree or 60 semester credits from an accredited college including or supplemented by 12 semester credits in mainframe and/or mini computer operations

The office of New Media develops and maintains Parks & Recreation’s website, www.nyc.gov/parks, which is the public gateway to accessing the agency’s services and information. The New Media team also performs a variety of tasks including application development, multi-media development, data management, technical consultation, and presentation production. As a web content coordinator you will have the opportunity to play a key role in enhancing the agency’s website.
