Responsibilities:
The Engineering Audit division monitors the funds and expenditures of Capital construction projects, ensuring that contractors deliver all services agreed upon. Assist with desk audits of construction, design, supervision and capital equipment payments in accordance with payment procedures and guidelines. Carefully review payment approvals for construction projects, thoroughly document audit findings. Review insurance certificates to ensure amounts are current and in the limits specified by contract. Verify price of contract unit items. Review billed work along with contractor payroll sheets, sign in sheets and worker acknowledgments. Perform 220 labor law compliance audits using daily reports, sign in sheets and payroll reports to verify compliance. Provide coverage for other desk auditors and/or office secretary in case of absence or leave.

Requirements:
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college including or supplemented by 24 credits in accounting including one course each in auditing, cost accounting, and advanced accounting.

Preferred Qualifications:
1. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
2. Excellent oral/written communication skills.
3. Valid New York State Driver License.

New York City residency required within 90 days of hire.
